2 days in Barcelona
A realistic day-by-day plan with start times, how long to allow, and travel estimates between stops.
This 2-day plan covers Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, Tapas, Park Güell and more. It starts around 9am, keeps two main things per day with a proper lunch, and leaves the evening for food or a show. Travel times are estimates from the distance between stops.
Day 1
Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló & more
- 09:00
Sagrada Família
2 h
Entry is timed and must be booked in advance; there is no walk-up entry in busy months. Allow about 90 minutes, two hours with a tower. The Nativity façade and the Passion façade are very different in style, so walk around the outside before you go in.
- 12:30
Lunch
Walk a couple of streets away from the main sight – prices drop and quality rises.
- 14:00
↓ About 19 min on foot
Casa Batlló
3 h
The visit uses a smart-guide device with augmented-reality features and takes about an hour and a half. The rooftop is the highlight. Morning slots are quieter.
- 19:00
↓ About 10 min by metro or taxi
Tapas & Wine Tour
3 h
Dinner is late. A tour starting at 7pm will feel early to locals, but it is the way to get into popular bars before they fill.
Day 2
Park Güell, Gothic Quarter & more
- 09:00
Park Güell
3 h
Only the monumental zone (the terrace, the bench and the columns) needs a ticket, and numbers are capped per half-hour. The rest of the park is free but a steep walk from the metro. Go early or late to avoid the crowds on the terrace.
- 12:30
Lunch
Walk a couple of streets away from the main sight – prices drop and quality rises.
- 14:00
↓ About 10 min by metro or taxi
Gothic Quarter & El Born
2 h 30 min
Go in the morning, when the lanes are quiet and the light is good. By midday the main streets are packed. The cathedral has a small entrance fee outside worship hours and a rooftop terrace.
- 19:00
Flamenco Show
1 h 30 min
Choose a small venue for a closer view. Many shows include a drink or dinner.

2-day Barcelona questions
Is 2 days enough for Barcelona?
Three days covers the headline sights; five lets you add Montserrat and slow down. This plan fits the main sights into 2 days at a comfortable pace, with a lunch break each day.
Can I change the order of the days?
Yes. Group days by neighbourhood if your hotel is far from a sight, and swap any day if opening hours (many museums close one day a week) or the weather requires it.
What should I book before I go?
Book Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló first – they use timed entry or sell out.
