Old Quebec City Food Tour with 10+ Authentic Local Tastings (opens in a new tab)

2,014 3 h

Old Québec is North America's most European city, and this tour puts its flavors front and center. Over five stops through cobblestone streets lined with 400 year old architecture, you'll eat your way through centuries of Québécois food culture, from rustic comfort food to refined local ingredients. You'll start with earthy Lion's Mane mushrooms and duck breast carpaccio, then warm up with the holy trio of traditional Québécois cooking: silky pea soup, savory pâté chinois, and fresh maple taffy. A 200-year-old home serves handmade gnocchi bathed in cheddar, cream, shallot, and white wine with a black garlic crumble. A sweet stop brings you sucre à la crème and what many locals call the best croissant in the city. Then you close the only way you should: with poutine. On Sundays and Mondays, the gnocchi stop is swapped for a warming oat risotto crowned with a rock shrimp salad. Groups are kept small so every stop feels personal.

This part of the tour is aimed at families as well as history and archaeology enthusiasts. If walking in the forest on a sloping site is a challenge for you, it is possible to start the tour directly at the Cartier-Roberval site on chemin Saint-Louis west of Quebec City. An asphalt trail is usable by people with reduced mobility but it ends in a staircase not suitable for four-carriers & wheelchairs. Our team participated in historical conferences and presentations in 2024 - 25 - 26 on research on Cartier, Roberval and archaeology. We are also based on a book by B. Come on.
