2 days in Marrakech

A realistic day-by-day plan with start times, how long to allow, and travel estimates between stops.

This 2-day plan covers Medina, Jardin Majorelle, Moroccan Cooking Class, Agafay Desert Experience and more. It starts around 9am, keeps two main things per day with a proper lunch, and leaves the evening for food or a show. Travel times are estimates from the distance between stops.

Day 1

Medina, Jardin Majorelle & more

  1. 09:00

    Medina & Souks

    2 h 30 min

Official guides carry a badge. Unofficial 'guides' offering to show you the way will expect payment.

  2. 12:30

    Lunch

Walk a couple of streets away from the main sight – prices drop and quality rises.

  3. 14:00

↓ About 19 min on foot

    Jardin Majorelle

    3 h

Timed tickets are required, and the garden is small and gets crowded. Go first thing in the morning.

  4. 19:00

    Moroccan Cooking Class

    3 h

Morning classes start at the market, which is the best part. Vegetarian options are widely available.

Day 2

Agafay Desert Experience & Hammam

  1. 09:00

    Agafay Desert Experience

    3 h

It is a stony desert rather than the sand dunes of the Sahara, which is far away, but it is an easy evening trip.

  2. 12:30

    Lunch

Walk a couple of streets away from the main sight – prices drop and quality rises.

  3. 14:00

    Hammam & Spa Experience

    2 h

Choose a tourist-friendly hammam if it is your first; bring swimwear.

  4. 19:30

    Dinner

Book ahead if you want a specific restaurant, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings.

2-day Marrakech questions

Is 2 days enough for Marrakech?

Three to four days. This plan fits the main sights into 2 days at a comfortable pace, with a lunch break each day.

Can I change the order of the days?

Yes. Group days by neighbourhood if your hotel is far from a sight, and swap any day if opening hours (many museums close one day a week) or the weather requires it.

What should I book before I go?

Book Jardin Majorelle, Hammam first – they use timed entry or sell out.
