3 h

An architect sees something more: the story of a city shaped by commerce, canals, infrastructure, culture, and the everyday lives of its people. We invite you to explore Osaka with an architect as your guide, looking beyond the obvious and discovering the ideas behind the city's urban landscape. Rather than simply visiting individual buildings, we'll explore how architecture connects with the streets, public spaces, businesses, and people around it. You'll discover how Osaka evolved from a city of merchants, canals, and bridges into the dynamic metropolis we see today. No architectural background is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to look at familiar places differently.

A Modern Kimono Photoshoot in Osaka (opens in a new tab)

2 h

Forget the standard kimono photos. Kimono doesn’t have to mean standing in front of a temple, smiling at the camera. This activity puts kimono into the real streets of Japan. You might shoot beside a vending machine, in a quiet alley, surrounded by greenery, against bold architecture, or somewhere you simply happen to discover along the way. The goal isn’t to make you look like a tourist wearing a kimono. The goal is to make you look like you. During this one hour photoshoot, I’ll direct your poses, find interesting compositions, and turn the streets around us into your backdrop. The result is a set of 25 carefully selected, professionally edited photographs with a more modern, fashion-inspired feel. Kimono rental and basic hair styling can also be arranged for approximately 5,000 yen per person. This isn’t the traditional kimono photoshoot. That’s the point. Available in Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe.
