During our tour we discover the depths and riches of Jewish heritage in the city. Dwelving in to Jewish history, I’ll show you the hidden Jewish treasures of the neighborhood with 3 synagogues. We’ll take a look at the murals, that make the Jewish Quarter a true open air gallery; the kosher restaurants, and last but not least I’ll invite you in to the most authentic local ruin pubs and cultural centers which are the top meeting points for locals and party people. Please keep in mind, the synagogues we visit on the tour are functioning religious places. On Friday afternoon, whole Saturday and on Jewish high holidays they are closed.

We’ll visit Szentendre, a charming riverside town known for its artistic atmosphere, cobblestone streets, and small local craft shops. We continue to Visegrád Castle, a historic fortress now partly in ruins. Built to guard the Danube route towards Buda, it later became a royal residence and offers panoramic views over the Danube Bend. We will also visit Esztergom Basilica, the largest church in Hungary and one of the country’s most symbolic and sacred places, connected to the coronation of Hungary’s first king. The drive is following the river Danube through the countryside, and in summer there’s also an option to cool off with a swim in the Danube. If you’d like, you may also have some company during the day — Ami, our friendly Bearded Collie, sometimes joins the trip We are Martina and Levente. We are flexible and happy to shape the day around your interests.
